Sébastien MAIMON

Hands-on technology partner in Lyon

A hands-on technology partner working alongside company leaders

I am Sébastien MAIMON, a hands-on technology partner based in Lyon, France. I help company leaders see where technology is costing them time or money, set priorities, put the work in place and keep it under control over the long run — without selling tools or open-ended day rates.

My job is to combine an understanding of your business with operational rigour. The credibility of a senior IT director remains a foundation (security, dependencies, continuity), not a job title on display.

Why bring in an outside partner

An in-house IT director is expensive and takes a long time to recruit. A conventional supplier sells days or licences, not a shared set of priorities.

I have been independent since 2006 and I am tied to no software vendor or reseller. My recommendations serve your interests. That independence is what makes objective choices and real budget control possible.

An unusual background, a different approach

After training in visual communication at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Lyon and then at the École Supérieure d’Arts Appliqués in Lyon, I moved quickly towards IT and technology, while always keeping people and real-world use in mind.

My time in large-scale web production (25,000 sites built in five years) gave me a bird’s-eye view of what is at stake with technology. That dual culture, artistic and technical, means I can design solutions that not only perform well but are understood and genuinely adopted by your teams.

What I work on

Digital and operational maturity assessment

Understanding how the business actually runs, mapping the friction and the tools, identifying the IT risks that matter, and delivering a leadership summary together with a 90-day plan.

Monthly partnership

Implementation, automation (including AI), supplier management, leadership reporting, continuous improvement. The goal is not to add yet another dashboard, but to make the decisions you need to take visible.

IT emergencies and continuity

Stabilising an outage, a stalled migration or an incident, then moving back into the assessment or the partnership so the crisis does not repeat itself.

Change management

Supporting teams as they adopt new tools and processes. An iterative approach, centred on business value.

Design and user experience

A direct legacy of my training at the Beaux-Arts, design is built into every project. A well-designed tool is a tool people actually use. This is not a separate service; it is a perspective that runs through everything I do.

A commitment to digital sovereignty

I build digital sovereignty into my recommendations as a matter of course. By favouring open-source solutions and French hosting infrastructure where it makes sense, I help companies gain control and free themselves from expensive dependencies.

An approach that fits any sector

My work is not tied to one industry. Digital friction — processes, tools, costs, security, dependencies — cuts across all of them. What changes is the business context. That is why I always start by understanding what you do.
